One of the key services I offer, which many of my competitors do not, is getting your business pre-financed before taking it to market. As soon as I have your listing signed, I begin work on a Confidential Information Memorandum (“CIM”) which will include sufficient operations and financial information for banks, the BDC/SBA, and private lenders to give me an informal discussion paper which outlines their funding parameters. We will then use this information for finalizing an asking price, prior to marketing your business. The preparation of this memorandum is fairly extensive, so I always give my clients ample warning that the depth and quantity of the financial reporting information I will require is great. It has been my experience that having the business pre-financed prior to taking it to market will result in significantly fewer deals falling apart during formal due diligence as a result of financing issues.
